First to advocate for seniors in neighborhood-commubities in some cultures that seniors used to be respected yet on the being abused due to confusionsbas early as in 1969. from little Ox's grandma, to neighborhoods' grandma of Kao, Zhu, Li, etc
First to yeiled chairs on bus to seniors and the pregnant and the weak as early as 1987 in NYC, but I was going only looked at as if I was an Alien. In fact a senior did grab my hand asking "which planet are you from? Seniors after certain age would not even dare to tell their age for fear being abused and discriminated." Prior to COVID, chairs were occupied tripley regardless how many seniors were standing nearby.

* YueXin Miller was endearingly nicked named as "Emily" over 36 years ago by professors at grad-school who had difficulties to pronounce her birth name "YueXin" due to less linguistic exposure back then. (Brilliant professors certainly over-favoring those who are family oriented by calling the interesting name of "Emily". Although my husband's side of the family always preferred the birth name given by parents of YueXin, Emily is always an unusual name. A little too pretty for a "ugly duckling" as YueXin was known for growing up).
